21 Days of Blogging(Journey of an Emerging Writer)> Day 10> From dreaming to become a cricketer to ....

 Hello readers,

Hope y'all doin great! It's day 10 of the journey. I just realised something about writing, that it requires peace and an ample amount of time to think. You can't just come home after work and start babbling about your day in here. Writing can never be a work that just had to be done, it has to come from the heart. I'm saying all this cause I really felt that I've written a few blogs in a hurry but as I said I'm learning, I'll be on a good track soon. So getting back where we left, I'll tell you  about something that is very important to me which is 'Sports'. First things first,  I was born in a village in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand state, I completed my elementary education from a town named 'Gopeshwar' which is situated in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand and then moved to another town named 'Agastyamuni'(distt. Rudraprayag)  where I spent my rest of the schooling years. Agastyamuni is a town situated near river 'Mandakini' and surrounded by mountains. The town falls on the main route to famous temple 'Kedarnath' and is usually a busy route due to a lot of tourism. When I first came in the town, I immediately fell in love with the environment because it was more developed than a village and not as much developed as a city. But the best part of Agastyamuni was that there was a huge playground in the valley. When I was in 2nd standard I joined a cricket academy there, that was my father's decision I guess because he used to play cricket in his young age and he still likes to be around the cricket environment. For the first two years we didn't learnt batting or bowling in the academy as I remember, all we did was collect the balls and did some fielding practice to develop some basics. After that we chose from either batting or bowling, and I picked balling cause I thought bowling can really be my forte. So I started practicing fast bowling, and did pretty decent as a youngster. We used to play tournaments in our district and conquered almost every tournament in our age category, to be honest there was not much competition in the district back then. We used to spend most of the time training and the best part was we loved it until one day I found out that I do not love it anymore. When I was playing cricket around 6th standard, a few of my friends were playing football and that sport felt pretty cool. I did tried to skip training a few days to play football with them but couldn't play much as my coach and father both were kinda strict about the discipline and they wanted me not to roam with my football friends. So I focused on cricket a bit more but I did had a soft spot for football from the very beginning. I went on a few cricket tours during my career to some other districts in Uttarakhand but they didn't went very well as we didn't had as strong team as the other districts. I persuaded cricket from 2nd standard till 10th standard, for almost 8 years I played cricket and there was a time when I wanted to be a cricketer as great as Sachin Tendulkar but ain't that every youngster's dream in India! When I was promoted to 9th standard I changed my school and went to the only Kendriya Vidyalaya in our district which was the turning point of my regular life and sports life as well. In that school most of my friends were playing football but I didn't payed attention to that fact in the beginning. When I was in high school, a regional sports meet was about to organised in the Dehradun district, so we enrolled for the trials that were about to happen. A lot of my friends enrolled for football trials and I with my other friends joined the cricket trials. The trials went well but later we got an info that the cricket team of the school is not registered in the tournament so we couldn't participate in the regional games. With that incident, we completed our higher education and I came to Dehradun to live with my maternal uncle's family for the summer vacation, during that vacation my elder brother took me with him to play football and I enjoyed that pretty much and that was another turning point of life as a sportsman. After the vacation when I got back to Agastyamuni I left the cricket academy for good and never played cricket after that as a competetive sport. Till this day I enjoy playing football and I'm glad that I made that decision during the vacation back in 2015.So that's how guys I ended up from dreaming to become a cricketer to a footballer who thinks football is his meditation in the chaos of life.

Talking about the day, routine was totally same. Was engaged wtih friends after dinner and that's the reason I'm posting this blog a bit late. Hope to see you guys tomorrow and let's see what the next day holds for us. Till then, have a great time everyone:)
